Abbeydale Picturehouse, Sheffield

Feasibility Study and business planning for redevelopment of a Grade II listed cinema and theatre building.  As well as examining the refurbishment of the listed theatre structure, the study outlined the addition of adjoining new-build rehearsal/production facilities and managed workspace on adjacent land, in order to achieve a revenue sustainable mixed development. 

The context of this key public building was further examined via a concurrent study carried out by students from the School of Architecture at Sheffield University, supported by Heeley Development Trust and Sharrow Forum.  The resulting, proposed development package incorporates the building into a wider mixed-use scheme. The Friends acquired the building in 2005 and development discussions and fundraising are ongoing.
