Plymouth Creative
Industries Strategy
ci:p were initially commissioned by a partnership of Plymouth College of Art & Design, Plymouth City Council, the University of Plymouth and other strategic partners (including ACE and South West RDA) to devise a strategy and action plan for the development of a cultural quarter focussed around Higher Education sector developments, City Council and College of Arts facilities in the North Hill area of the city.
This work provided a sector development strategy that examined the physical cultural quarter potential and model for the area, but also proposed a wider strategy to link together and develop a series of ‘cultural nodes’ of ‘zones’ across the wider city. ci:p assisted thereafter in the business planning and grant applications for business incubation elements within the new Arts Faculty Building being developed by the University of Plymouth, initial proposals for a new strategic body ‘Creative Plymouth’, for the City Council, and assisted Plymouth College of Art and Design in researching the potential development of Arts Studio incubation facilities in the area. |
