The Cube Live-Work Project, Sheffield

The Cube is a pilot live/work project championed by the CIQ Agency (CIQA) as an important addition to the ladder of provision in the Cultural Industries Quarter (CIQ) in both a residential and creative business context.  ci:p have been retained to examine the development and delivery of the implementation and management plan for Sheffield’s first live-work scheme.  Developed in partnership between the Cultural Industries Quarter Agency and Derwent Living, the Cube is a pilot project funded by the Regional Housing Board.  The scheme offers various configurations of live-work spaces provided specifically for the CDI sector in the area.  The Implementation plan aims to establish a ‘creative live-work service’ for the city, and future development is forecast once the pilot project is established.  The intial building phase of the project will be completed and available for let in 2007.
