Scarborough Arts Studios Project

In the development of the Creative Industries Workspace project at Woodend a wider strategy was developed with the Borough Council that considered the broader needs of the town and area in respect of cultural production and consumption. This ranged from the need for new advisory and partnership structures through to the need for new and better cultural facilities and buildings. A key gap identified was the lack of the appropriate level of arts studio workspace required to support the town’s active and increasing number of artists and creative producers. ci:p are acting for the Scarborough Arts Studios Group to identify opportunities for a new studio building and develop a business plan to deliver and operate such a facility. This work is ongoing.
